Privacy Policy
Una Voce La Crosse (“Una Voce La Crosse,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By using this website, you agree to the practices described below.
1. About This Policy
This policy applies to information collected through unavocelacrosse.org (the “website”). It does not apply to the parishes, shrines, or other organizations we link to, each of which maintains its own privacy practices. Una Voce La Crosse is a lay Catholic membership organization and a chapter of Una Voce America; we are not a commercial business and do not profit from your data.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you use our subscribe or membership-interest form, we collect the information you choose to give us — typically your name, email address, and whether you are interested in becoming a member. If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, our hosting server and analytics tools may automatically log limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used in aggregate to understand site usage and is not used to personally identify you.
2.3 Information From Third Parties
We do not purchase or obtain personal information about you from data brokers. If you interact with us through a third-party platform (for example, a linked parish website), that platform’s own privacy policy governs the information it collects.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Send you news, event announcements, and updates about the Traditional Latin Mass in our region;
- Respond to membership inquiries and process membership requests;
- Communicate with you about chapter activities and meetings;
- Maintain and improve the website and understand how it is used.
We rely on your consent (when you submit a form) and our legitimate interest in operating our chapter as the basis for these uses.
4. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only: (a) with trusted service providers who help us operate the website or send email, and only as needed to perform those services; (b) with Una Voce America in connection with chapter membership, where applicable; or (c) if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of our members and the public.
5. Third-Party Services
This website may use reputable third-party services, including website hosting, web analytics (such as Google Analytics), and an accessibility tool. These providers process limited data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit through our links.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website may use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences (such as accessibility settings) and to measure site traffic. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from reading the site, though some preferences may not be remembered between visits.
7. Data Retention
We keep the information you provide only for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy — for example, for as long as you remain on our email list or a member of the chapter. You may ask us to remove your information at any time.
8. Data Security
This website is served over a secure, encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
You may at any time: ask what information we hold about you; request that we correct or delete it; and unsubscribe from our emails. To exercise any of these choices, email us at [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable time.
10. State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law — including the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. Because we do not sell personal information and collect only what you voluntarily provide, most of these rights are honored by default. Residents of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and other states may contact us at the address below to exercise any applicable rights.
11. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, our website does not currently respond to them; however, we do not track you across other websites for advertising purposes.
12. Children’s Privacy
Our website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
13. Email Communications
If you join our email list, you may unsubscribe at any time by contacting us. We send only chapter-related communications and do not share your email address with outside organizations for their own marketing.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the website after any change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
15. Contact Us
